The best view in Sport
There are not many people who would agree on an answer to this question! Perhaps a better question would be “What is the best view you have had personally?”
A quick poll from those around me reveals:
- Trackside at Le Mans during the 24 hour race.
- The Harlem Globetrotters aged 8.
- The Cricket World Cup in the Carribean. full stop.
Personally I have been very lucky to have been in Stadium Australia when Cathy Freeman won her Olympic 400m gold medal, sitting on the finish line when Steve Redgrave won his fifth gold medal, at Lord’s in the Warner Stand when Jos Buttler scored the fastest hundred in one day history. I could choose any time watching Jonathan Davies at the Cardiff Arms Park as a child. Or even the GB Three day eventing Gold medal day in Greenwhich Park during the London Olympics, watching Zara Philips being awarded a gold medal by her Mum, the Princess Royal.
But, in truth, there can be few better seats in the world than this! Technology has made it possible to double up, so while enjoying the busy him of Lord’s on a warm Saturday in June, you can also be watching the rugby on an ipad! Australia v England in Brisbane. England v Sri Lanka in London. All from the Lower Compton Stand at the home of cricket! Pure Genius!
